Member's Choice Gift Guide - Part 2

The EtsyNJ street team is like a big happy family! We support each other, share both happy events and frustrating events and most of all, we like to shop from each other!! From now until Christmas, EtsyNJ members will be sharing their gift guides! A member will share an item from another member's shop and tell us who on their gift list its absolutely perfect for!

Kitty from Heart of Nature says this: I came across these buttons by Buttonanza that would be PERFECT for my Vegan hubby:

Check out Heart of Nature for fine art nature photography and other nature inspired creations.

Tracy from the Tote Trove loves browsing EtsyNJ shops! Here's another pick from her: "My boyfriend would adore these Superhero Magnets from What's Eating Yin, especially because I have so many girly ones up!"

Hop on over to the Tote Trove for totes, acessories, jewelry and more!!

Denise from Designs By Denise says this: I would give this fine art photograph by Briefmoments to my brother, who loves music and would appreciate the beauty in this photograph.

Visit Designs By Denise for handcrafted silver, gold and crystal jewelry.

Check back later next week for another EtsyNJ Member's Choice Gift Guide!

Featured Artist - Marjorie's Cracked Plate Jewelry

Who are you? Marjorie Cunningham

What is your Etsy Shop Name/link? http://marjoriescracked.etsy.com

What tag categories do you specialize in? jewelry, necklaces, pendants, bracelets, rings, earrings, brooches, anklets, broken china, wire wrap, wire crochet, sea glass, shell

Do you create for children or adults, women or men? Mostly women

What do you like about Etsy? I just joined it so am not too familiar with it. It seems like a friendly and reasonable place to sell products.

Where do you find inspiration for your products? I mostly find inspiration from the china itself. China has such a history to it and such beauty. Some china is hand painted by artist and is like a miniature piece of art. I usually do a bit of research on each piece of china that I use to find out when and where it was manufactured, whether it's hand painted and anything special about it. Plus I'm inspired by other jewelry designers that I've met.

What do you love about your business? I love being able to give new life to a broken piece of china. China holds such a special place in our lives. We attach memories and sentimental value to it. When a piece of china that we value has broken, we're heartbroken. I love being able to restore that china into a piece of jewelry that can be treasured for years to come. It's a very "green" business. I also create sea glass and shell jewelry, which, being from the Jersey Shore all my life, is right up my alley!

What is your favorite product right now? My wire crochet necklaces. I think the lacy look of the wire crochet beautifully complements the broken china pieces.

What makes you unique at Etsy? Most broken china jewelry designers use solder on the broken edges. Instead of solder, I file the edges completely smooth, varnish the edges and then wire wrap the piece. I think that technique lets me be much more creative in my designs. Plus I also wire crochet necklaces and bracelets, which isn't often done with broken china work.

What other street teams are you a member of? I'm in the process of joining EtsyVeg and EtsyForAnimals.

What are some other sites to find out more about you and what you love to create? http://www.marjoriescracked.com & http://marjoriescracked.blogspot.com

More Fabulous FOJ Donations

The Friends of Joey benefit dinner and auction is tonight, and the
remainder of the donations are in! I've got quite a few donations left to
share with you, but I don't want to undermine their awesomeness, so I am
splitting up the remainder of the donations into two posts.

Where to start...

Well, from Purplelicious.etsy.com is this adorable matching headband and key fob set, made from a wonderfully rich and and exuberant fabric:

Yin of WhatsEatingYin.etsy.com donated this eco-friendly tag set in every color of the basket theme! Go Yin!

And from DonnaDidIt.etsy.com is this adorable hand-painted trinket box. I love the intricate work that went into its design!

And finally, LDDesigns.etsy.com donates her uber cute and useful magnetic notepad in a fun and flowery tin...

12 Donations and Counting!

Here’s the latest update on the fabulous prizes I’ve received for the Friends of Joey gift basket to date…

From MadebyMelissa.etsy.com is this adorable crocheted stuffed dolly:

From my own shop, EcoKate.etsy.com, I crocheted a set of 4 eco-friendly dish cloths that can be used time and again to wash dishes or anything else in your house, for that matter!

From nicerakc.etsy.com I received this beautifully crafted set of earrings in every theme color we picked for the basket! They’re too chic!

The benefit is quickly approaching, and I’m getting so excited to put all of these awesome prizes together into an eye catching arrangement! I can’t thank the EtsyNJ team enough for all of your generosity and help in putting this together!
